The estate was named after Captain Gordon, the one time owner, who fought at the battle of El Teb. He would relate stories of his exploits so frequently that he was also known as “El- Teb Gordon” and hence, the name. The present tea estate stands at an elevation between 610m (2000ft) to 1200m ( 3937ft) above sea level and comes within the Uva Medium Category. This high grown Broken Orange Pekoe Fannings is a medially strong black tea with a tawny hue.
